The Biodiversity Network Austria promotes increased collaboration among diverse stakeholders from science, administration, politics, business, and civil society in the area of biodiversity and ecosystem services. The Biodiversity Hub at Danube University Krems serves as the network's coordination office and communication hub.

Global challenges require the collaboration of various disciplines. Inter- and transdisciplinarity, as well as comprehensive societal participation, are therefore fundamental requirements for finding suitable answers.

The Biodiversity Network Austria wishes to provide the appropriate framework for this, and is therefore open to all interested individuals and institutions whose goal is to strengthen biodiversity and its ecosystem services in Austria.
